PROVIDENCE, R.I. (DATE) – Following the completion of the Little East Conference Men's Basketball Tournament, the conference office announced its 2025-26 postseason award winners, with UMass Boston sophomore forward
Cameron Perkins (Danbury, Conn.) earning LEC Player of the Year honors. Sophomore
Raphel Laurent (Peabody, Mass.) also garnered All-Conference recognition.
Perkins was named the LEC Player of the Year and selected to the All-LEC First Team after a dominant regular season. He averaged 22.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.7 combined steals and blocks per game. His season was highlighted by a career-high 47-point performance against Salem State, which ranks among the top single-game scoring outputs in NCAA Division III this season. Perkins also collected two LEC Player of the Week honors.
His selection marks the first time a Beacon has been named LEC Player of the Year since Tony Barros earned the distinction during the 2005-06 campaign.
Laurent joined Perkins on the All-LEC First Team after averaging 21.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, while contributing 2.4 combined steals and blocks per contest. He was also named to the All-LEC Defensive Team, finishing the regular season with 51 steals and 10 blocks. Laurent becomes the first Beacon to earn All-Defensive Team honors since Malik Lorquet in 2022-23.
Perkins and Laurent powered the Beacons throughout the 2025-26 season, and their postseason accolades underscore the impact both sophomores had on the program's success.
