PROVIDENCE, R.I. (February 16, 2026) – For the third time during the 2025-26 season, UMass Boston men's basketball sophomore guard Raphel Laurent (Peabody, Mass.) has been named Little East Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Laurent powered the Beacons to a 2-0 week, averaging 26.0 points per game while shooting 59 percent (18-for-30) from the field and 67 percent (6-for-9) from three-point range. He also totaled 13 rebounds and five steals across the two victories.

In Wednesday's win over the Vermont State University Castleton Spartans, Laurent erupted for a career-high 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting. He followed that performance with 21 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in Saturday's decisive victory over the Plymouth State Panthers.

Laurent and the Beacons return to Clark Gymnasium for the final time in the regular season on Wednesday, February 18, when they host the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs at 7:00 p.m. The game will serve as the program's Senior Day celebration.
