KANSAS CITY, Mo. (January 30, 2026) – Following the conclusion of the 2025 NCAA Division III men's soccer season, the United Soccer Coaches released its final national poll, with UMass Boston earning a No. 23 ranking among the nation's top 25 teams.
The national ranking marks UMass Boston's first appearance in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll since the Beacons' Sweet Sixteen run during the 2016 NCAA Division III Tournament, underscoring the program's return to the national stage.
The Beacons finished the season with a 13-4-4 overall record and captured their first Little East Conference Tournament Championship since 2022—and the fifth in program history—after a 2-1 victory over Western Connecticut State University. The conference title secured UMass Boston an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
In postseason play, the Beacons opened the NCAA Tournament with a convincing 4-1 win over Roger Williams University before their season came to an end in a tightly contested 3-2 match against regional host Bowdoin College.
Statistically, UMass Boston ranked among the national leaders throughout the season, tying for 32nd in Division III in goal differential (+31), ranking 50th in points per game (6.48), and tying for 42nd nationally in goals per game (2.43).
The Beacons' success was further reflected in postseason honors, as the team collected seven All-Little East Conference selections, including the LEC Defensive Player of the Year. UMass Boston also placed three student-athletes on United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams, produced a United Soccer Coaches All-American, and had two players earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition.
