GREENWOOD, Ind. (June 3, 2025) – As the accolades continue to roll in from the 2025 season, UMass Boston baseball is once again being recognized for its excellence—this time for academic achievement. Four Beacons—Nick Farnacci (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Mariano Jimenez (Waltham, Mass.), Brandon Gaer (Rocky Hill, Conn.), and Bostyn Burris (Highland Village, Texas)—have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The honor, awarded annually, celebrates student-athletes who exemplify the highest standards of performance on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-District® program recognizes top student-athletes across NCAA Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA, with honorees selected based on academic excellence and significant athletic contributions during the season.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and meet strict criteria for playing time—either appearing in at least 80 percent of their team's games or starting at least 66 percent of contests. To find out more about the CSC Academic All-District/American programs, including the full list of honorees, follow the link ( HERE).
Farnacci, Jimenez, Gaer, and Burris played key roles in UMass Boston's success on the diamond this season, helping to power the Beacons to a 25-17 campaign in the ultra-competitive Little East Conference. Their work ethic, consistency, and leadership extended beyond the field, where they demonstrated the same level of dedication in their academic pursuits.
Congratulations to all four student-athletes on this well-earned recognition and for continuing to represent UMass Boston with pride.
