ITHACA, N.Y. (May 16, 2025) – Following standout performances at the 2025 NCAA Softball Regional Tournament hosted by Ithaca College, UMass Boston's softball program (33-13-1) earned two selections to the All-Tournament Team. Senior Lauren Miner (Millbury, Mass.) and sophomore Mary Matthews (Wilsonville, Ore.) were recognized among nine total honorees from the four participating teams.
Mary Matthews
Matthews played a pivotal role in the Beacons' offensive efforts throughout the regional. Against nationally ranked No. 9 Texas Lutheran, she recorded UMass Boston's lone RBI of the game. In game four of the tournament—a win over Springfield College—Matthews went a perfect 3-for-3 with two singles, a triple, three RBIs, and a run scored, accounting for all four of the Beacons' runs. She closed out the tournament with a 1-for-2 performance and a stolen base in the finale against Ithaca College.
Lauren Miner
Miner consistently delivered at the plate across the three-game stretch. She was one of just three Beacons to record a hit against Texas Lutheran, finishing 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. In the Springfield victory, she went 2-for-3 with two singles, two runs scored, and a stolen base. Miner capped her regional campaign with another hit in the Beacons' final game against Ithaca.
