Garceau’s Shining Week Earns Fourth LEC Track Athlete of the Week Award of the Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (April 21, 2025) – Following a standout weekend at the Eastern Connecticut State University Bonnie Edmondson Classic and the Yale University Mark Young Invitational, the Little East Conference has named UMass Boston junior hurdler Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) the LEC Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive time and fourth overall this outdoor season.

Garceau turned in a trio of dominant performances across the 100m dash, 100m hurdles, and 200m dash—highlighted by three new personal bests and a tied school record that has stood for 36 years.

At the Bonnie Edmondson Classic, she clocked a new PR of 12.13 seconds to win the 100m dash and take over the top spot in the event on the conference standings.

From the Mark Young Invitational, Garceau swept gold in both the 200m dash and her signature 100m hurdles. In the hurdles, she shattered her previous season best with a 13.80s finish, tying Jackie James' 1989 school record and taking over the national lead in NCAA Division III. She followed up with a blistering 24.34s in the 200m, marking one of the program's fastest times since Olympian Wadeline Jonathas, and claiming new DIII New England and LEC leads while climbing to 11th nationally.

Garceau and a group of Beacons will close out the regular season next week at the 2025 LEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at UMass Dartmouth.
