BOSTON, MA (March 31, 2025) – The Beacons' men's lacrosse team (8-1, 2-0 Little East Conference) will hit the road on Tuesday (Apr. 1) for a highly anticipated non-conference matchup against the nation's 20th-ranked team (USILA.com), the Babson College Beavers (7-3, 2-1 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference), at 7:00 p.m. from MacDowell Field in Babson Park, MA.
The Beacons have been dominant in 2025, winning their first four games. Their most notable victories include a 28-10 win over Salem State and a 26-6 triumph over Methodist University.
UMass Boston has outscored opponents by 67 goals this season (136-69) and averages a 62.9% shots-on-goal rate - taking 51.4 shots per game. The Beacons have four players with more than 10 goals, led by junior Matt Hutchings (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) with 21 goals on 38 shots, along with six assists for 27 total points. First-year Cole Allan (Falmouth, Maine) leads the team in assists with nine. First-year Jack Schartner (Bolton, Mass.) is second in total points with 22, including 16 goals and six assists.
Graduate Patrick Carey (North Andover, Mass.) leads the team in ground balls with 45 in nine games, ranking third in the LEC for ground balls per game. Carey also has 22 caused turnovers, six goals, and three assists, contributing as an all-around two-way player.
Jack DiFalco-Wheeler (Falmouth, Mass.) is the Beacons' leading faceoff specialist, with 52 total faceoff wins this season. First-year Jack Baker (Bellingham, Mass.) is 42-58 in faceoffs for a 72.4% win rate.
In goal, James Boldy (Hopedale, Mass.) leads the LEC with 56 goals allowed in nine games (6.96 GPG, .600 save percentage), including 56 saves.
Babson has outscored opponents 125-93 (+32), averaging 12.5 goals per game. They take 43.2 shots per game with a .572 shots-on-goal percentage. Camden Matthews leads the Beavers with 24 goals and four assists for 28 total points. Matthews has scored his team-high goals on 36 shots, with a .692 shots-on-goal percentage. Seamus Rooney leads Babson in total points with 34, including 18 goals and a team-high 16 assists. Babson also has two defenders with 40 ground balls: Tripp Clark and Will Reading. Clark leads the team with 15 caused turnovers. In goal, Alex Fascilla has a .568 save percentage, with 109 saves and 83 goals allowed, posting a 6-3 record this year.
