Garceau Opens Outdoor Season at UCF Black and Gold Invitational

ORLANDO, FL (March 22, 2025) – Junior Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) successfully opened the Beacons' 2025 outdoor track and field season at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Black and Gold Invitational, featuring a field of over 10 NCAA Division I teams in a highly competitive meet.

Garceau competed in both days of the event. On Friday, she ran the 200m dash for the Beacons' first outdoor race of the season. She lined up with over 120 NCAA Division I competitors and completed the race in 24.94 seconds, finishing ahead of 65 DI sprinters. Last outdoor season, Garceau opened the 200m dash with a time of 25.92 seconds, improving her time by nearly a full second in her first race of the current season.

On Saturday, Garceau competed in the women's 100m hurdles, marking her first race hurdling the distance since becoming an All-American in 2024. She submitted a clean series of hurdles in 14.29 seconds. With this outdoor-opening performance, she currently sits atop NCAA Division III's top-two hurdle finishes in 2025, just 0.05 seconds behind the nation's leading hurdler, Allyson Hammond of Pacific (Ore.).

Expect the Little East Conference's 2024 Indoor Track Athlete of the Year to rank among the fastest individuals in the conference once this weekend's outdoor results are posted, as the junior is poised to make waves both regionally and nationally following her Indoor National Championship in the 60m hurdles.

The Beacons will compete as a team for the first time in several weeks at the Tufts University Snowflake Classic on March 29 in Medford, Mass. Further information will be available soon.
