Beacons Head South for Spring Break Trip

Boston, MA (Mar. 18, 2025) --- The UMass Boston Beacons are heading south to Baltimore, Maryland, for two games over Spring Break. The Beacons will face Goucher College on Wednesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. before taking on Notre Dame of Maryland on Friday, March 21, at 4 p.m. 

The Basics 

  • UMass Boston Beacons: 4-1 (Overall), 0-1 (Conference) 

  • Goucher Gophers: 4-3 (Overall) 

  • Notre Dame of Maryland Gators: 0-6 (Overall) 

Beacons

  • The Beacons are coming off their first loss of the season, a setback to LEC opponent Keene State. It marked the first game this season where the Beacons scored fewer than 10 goals. 

  • Hannah Rich (Rockland, Mass.) leads the team in goals (18) and points (22). She has scored a hat trick in every game this season. 

  • Jamie McAleavey (Quincy, Mass.) leads the team in assists (5) and draw controls (24). 

  • Angelina Mazzone (Beverly, Mass.) has scooped up a team-high 14 ground balls and has contributed four goals this season. 

  • As a team, the Beacons have outscored their opponents 60-40 and are shooting at a .420 percentage. 

  • The Beacons' clear percentage this season stands at .742%, having completed 72 of 97 attempts. 

Gophers 

  • The Gophers are currently on a three-game winning streak, including an 18-0 shutout of Geneva on March 15. 

  • Over their last three games, the Gophers have outscored their opponents 50-19. 

  • Emily Burke and Camden West lead the team with 21 points apiece this season. 

  • Molly Smith is first on the team in assists (11), ground balls (17), and second in points (18). 

  • Burke leads the Gophers in draw controls with 37, just one more than Smith, who has 36. 

Gators 

  • The Gators are still seeking their first win of the season. Their most recent loss was a 15-4 defeat to Alfred State on March 15. 

  • Cailyn Motta leads the Gators in goals (6) and points (6). 

  • Sarah Generoso leads the team in draw controls with 20.
