'PROVIDENCE, R.I. (February 10, 2025) -- The Little East Conference announced this week's iterations of the LEC Track Athletes of the week. Coming in hot with her sixth consecutive LEC Track Athlete of the Week Award, junior hurdler Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) was selected once again for her stellar performances at the Crimson Elite Invitational in Cambridge, MA. from Havard University, and the University of Rhode Island Coaches Invitational in Kingston, R.I.

On Friday among premiere NCAA DI hurdlers at the Crimson Elite, Garceau finished fourth overall in the preliminary rounds with an 8.57s finish, clearing 28 other elite hurdlers including representation from the University of Connecticut (UCONN, NCAA DI), Brown University (NCAA DI), Northeastern University (NCAA DI), and Yale (NCAA DI) among several others. Her 8.57s finish was one-hundredth of a second off her 8.56s school record and NCAA DIII lead. In the final round, Garceau ran well among the best-of-the-best, taking sixth place in 8.57s, representing the Beacons' track and field program in the best light surrounded by high-level competition. 

On Saturday at the URI Coaches Invitational, Garceau took on the 60m dash, without hurdles, and qualified in 7.80s, good for third overall in the preliminary rounds. Garceau followed up with a 7.77 in finals, taking third overall in the event at the meet. Her 7.77s finish in the 60m dash was one-hundredth of a second of her personal record set this season (7.76s). Garceau sets another time that would rank her first in the LEC.

Garceau and the Beacons' track and field team will compete for a final time at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14, before heading to Providence, R.I for the 2025 LEC Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
