Boston, MA — This Giving Tuesday, UMass Boston Athletics is calling on its alumni, families, and supporters to help reach a $25,000 goal to launch a new Student-Athlete Fueling Station, an investment that will directly support the health, strength, performance and success of every Beacon.
The Fueling Station will provide student-athletes across UMass Boston's 20 varsity sport programs with daily access to healthy snacks, recovery shakes, and essential nutrition designed for peak performance. Once completed, the space will also serve as a central hub for community-building and a key component of the UMass Boston Holistic Performance Program.
"Every contribution makes a meaningful impact," said Dr. Jacqueline Schuman, Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics & Recreation. "Whether supporters help fund equipment installation, stock nutritious food options, or assist with the final build-out, they are part of a united effort to improve our student-athletes' overall health and performance and ultimately fuel their success."
The university invites alumni and supporters to join together and help empower the next generation of Beacons champions. Donors can make an early gift or participate on December 2nd to support this initiative.
