PROVIDENCE, R.I. (January 20, 2025) – The Little East Conference announced its Track and Field weekly award winners, with junior
Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) among the recipients for her performance at the Reggie Payou Memorial Invitational.
This marks Garceau's third appearance this season as LEC Track Athlete of the Week. She won the first following her performance at the season opener on December 8, and again following the Suffolk Ice Breaker Invite on January 11.
Garceau set two new personal records in secondary events, including the 60m dash (7.76s) and the women's long jump (5.16m), for two first-place finishes, as she individually scored 20 of the Beacons' 61 points to help the Beacons finish fifth overall out of ten competing teams at the event. She also ran a leg in both relay teams that scored points. She led off the women's 4x200m relay to a fourth-place finish, good for five points, and also anchored the women's 4x400m relay to a sixth-place finish to add four additional points. In total, Garceau had her hand in 29 of UMass Boston's 61 points scored.
Garceau's new personal record in the women's 60m dash currently ranks her at 21
st in the nation for NCAA Division III.
The Beacons' track and field team lace up the spikes again on Saturday, January 25, for the Massasoit Classic hosted by Springfield College.
