Women's Soccer to Travel to Westfield State

BOSTON, MA (September 12, 2024) – The Beacons' women's soccer team will travel to Westfield, Massachusetts on Friday evening for a nonconference matchup against the Westfield State Owls.

Previously
The Beacons and the Owls have kicked off five times in a history that spans back farther than 25 years, back when the two first played in September of 1995 when the Owls won 4-0. The most recent pairing of the two saw an offensive battle end in a 3-3 draw from the James Cotter Field in Boston, Massachusetts.

This Season:
The Beacons have started their season unbeaten through the first four games, going 2-0-2 with wins against Smith College (2-0) and the United States Coast Guard Academy (1-0). Their most recent matchup against the Wellesley College Blues saw the Beacs settle for a one-point draw on the road. Goals have come from various contributors, with first-years Kathryn Brown and Lucinda Cotter each finding twine early in the season.

The Owls have started their season 1-2-2, with their first win of the season coming most recently off a 4-0 win over the Keene State Owls from Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass. The Owls' senior forward Delaney Parker scored a hat trick and her 71st career goal for Westfield State. Parker leads all goal scorers for the Owls this season with five goals on 19 shots. Junior goalkeeper Julia Robek slated her seventh career shutout.
