BOSTON, MA (August 26. 2024) – The UMass Boston men's Soccer team was selected first overall with seven first-place votes among the Little East Conference men's soccer teams in the 2024 LEC Preseason Poll, voted on by coaches of the LEC.
This year, the Beacons scored first in the poll with 63 points and seven first-place votes, beating out the likes of Western Connecticut State (56) and Eastern Connecticut State (45).
This season, the Beacons will look to keep the ball rolling from last season, when they finished 13-5-2 overall and 6-1-1 through conference play, good for the LEC Regular Season Championship. The Beacons ultimately defeated the fourth-seeded Rhode Island College Anchormen 4-2 before falling short in the LEC Tournament Finale.
The UMass Boston men's soccer team will open its season on Friday, August 30 from Newport R.I against the Salve Regina Seahawks at noon, and will play their home opener on Saturday, September 7 against Plattsburgh State.
