Forest Grove, Ore. (March 13, 2024) - The UMass Boston baseball team dropped a 15-4 decision to Pacific University on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Beacons fall to 4-3 (0-0 LEC), while Pacific improve to 10-2 (0-1 NWC). 

Pacific got on the board early, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings. The Beacons found answers for three of the Boxer's early runs. Freshman Brandon Gaer hit an RBI single up the middle with senior Bostyn Burris crossing the plate on an error. Junior Mariano Jimenez gave the Beacons their second run on a sacrifice fly ball to left field. Senior Bostyn Burris would follow that up with a single to left field to bring home the senior Aidan Blake. 

Sophomore Justin DeMalco and sophomore Jake Silveria would hold Pacific to zero runs in a combined effort in the fourth and fifth innings. Sophomore Max Garner would score the Beacons' fourth and final run off a balk in the top of the seventh.  

Pacific did not keep the bats at bay for long, recording five more runs in the remaining three innings of play to close out the game.  

Sophomore Justin Gouveia, Junior Mike Meagher, Burris, Garner, and Baer were responsible for the five hits for the Beacons in today's contest.
