BOSTON, Mass. -- In his first season in Beacon blue, UMass Boston Men's Tennis junior transfer Patrick Ramos earned Little East Conference Player of the Year and LEC First Team All Conference honors as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning. Ramos is only the second Beacon to win Player of the Year, the first being Nandish Shah in 2019.  

Joining the team this spring, Ramos was a dominant force in both the #1 Singles and Doubles all season long for UMass Boston, finishing with a record of 7-2 in singles matches while going 7-3 in doubles. 

The junior transfer went a perfect 6-0 in #1 Singles against Little East Conference opponents in the regular season this spring, winning in straight sets in five of those six matches. His lone match that would be pushed beyond two sets was against Rhode Island College junior Josh Brien which Ramos would ultiamtely win 11-9 in the tiebreaking third set. 

In #1 doubles, Ramos would team up with freshman Maxwell Dill four times, going 4-0 in those matches and sophomore Felix Nguyen in which he would go 2-2 overall. Freshman Ryan Tran and sophomore Karsten Bourgoine each competed with Ramos in the #1 Doubles as well during the season in which those duos were a combined 1-1. During the regular season, Ramos was 5-1 in doubles against Little East opponents.

Felix Nguyen was also named to the Little East Conference Sportsmanship Team.
