FITCHBURG, Mass. – The week ended for UMass Boston Women's Track and Field just how it started with another record-breaking effort from freshman
Kaitlyn Chirkis in her two throwing events on Saturday at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After recording a new personal best of 32.33 meters in the Women's Javelin on Thursday, Chirkis once again broke her own mark with a 34.14-meter throw in the event which landed her six points after placing third overall. In just her second time competing in the Women's Discus Throw, Chirkis finished 11
th overall with a distance of 26.96 meters.
Freshman
Jacqueline Earner made her presence felt for the Beacons during the Women's 1,500 Meter Run, earning six points for the team after a 5:09.22 finish which landed her third overall on the leaderboard. Also scoring points in the running events was freshman
Harleen Bassan with an eighth-place finish in the Women's 400 Meter Run in 1:07.67 while freshman
Delaney Sartwell took sixth in the Women's 100 Meter Hurdles in 20.90 seconds which earned her three points for UMass Boston.
Sophomore Mackenzie Jorgensen also recorded a new personal best en route to four more points for the Beacons after placing fifth in the Women's Pole Vault with a heigh of 2.45 meters.

UMass Boston will take part in the Penman Relays at Southern New Hampshire University next Saturday.
