BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Boston is proud to announce that it will once again be taking part in one of the most celebrated weeks in college athletics in NCAA D3 Week, which will run from April 10-15.
Led by the UMass Boston Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the week-long celebration will feature a variety of stories, community service projects, and videos that highlight the dedicated athletes on the harbor campus.
"D3 Week is an important staple in the NCAA community as a way to showcase and build an understanding of the richness of the Division III student-athlete experience as an integrated and meaningful part of education in a higher education institution. Our student-athletes have worked tirelessly in the classroom, engaged in a variety of projects throughout the year, and done all of these things while also competing against some of the top teams in their respective sports. I am proud of the way that our incredibly diverse student-athlete population represents the NCAA Division III model with high character through their involvement at UMass Boston," added Jacqui Schuman, UMass Boston Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics and Recreation.
UMass Boston has been a proud member of NCAA Division III since the creation of the athletics department over four decades ago. Each year the student-athletes take time out of their busy schedules to show what it truly is like to be a D3 athlete, and how they are dedicated to balancing their education, service, campus involvement and competitive excellence through sports.
