Jimmy Cannon was named to the All-LEC Second Team in the Men's 5,000 Meter Run as announced by the Little East Conference league office on Friday afternoon.
All-LEC First Team and All-Rookie Team (60 Meter Hurdles): Aryianna Garceau
Aryianna Garceau ran in four different events at the LEC Championship this past weekend, but her biggest performance came in the Women's 60 Meter Hurdles. Garceau had a first-place finish in the event with a time of 9.58 seconds which was good for 21
st overall in the DIII New Englands this season and broke the program record for the fifth time this season alone. The previous record heading into the indoor season was set by Olivia Volante back on January 27th, 2018 in a time of 10.17 seconds.
All-LEC First Team (Women's 800 Meter Run): Jacqueline Earner
Jacqueline Earner notched the Women's 800 Meter Run title with a time of 2:25.55 at the LEC Championships, which was a personal best this season for the freshman. The time was good for 69
th in the DIII New Englands this season and earned her All-LEC First Team in the event.
All-LEC Second Team (Men's 5,000 Meter Run): Jimmy Cannon
Jimmy Cannon played a role in helping UMass Boston score all 11 points in the LEC Championship last weekend, but his second-place performance in the Men's 5,000 Meter Run, was what earned Cannon All-LEC Second Team honors. The graduate student finished in a time of 15:37.02 just 11 seconds back of UMass Dartmouth's Jacob Paris who was named All-LEC First Team.
UMass Boston is currently at the DIII New England Regional Championship being held at The TRACK at New Balance today and tomorrow in Boston, Massachusetts.
