Women's Indoor Track Competes at Beacon Invitational at New Balance

BOSTON, Mass. – On Saturday, UMass Boston Women's Indoor Track competed in the Beacon Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts. Sophomore Dorinda Okorji qualified for the Women's 60-Meter Final, finishing 8th overall and first amongst NCAA Division III runners in a time of 8.19 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
 
Okorji finished 36th overall in the Women's 200 Meter Final with a time of 26.27 seconds in her other event during the meet.  

Sophomore Grace Colon made her season debut for UMass Boston in the Women's 3,000 Meter Run, finishing in a time of 12:32.67 and 20th overall.

Sophomore Harleen Bassan finished 11th in the Women's 800 Meter Run, setting her season personal best with a time of 2:41.64 in the event.  

Freshman Jacqueline Earner also set a personal best in the mile run, finishing 12th overall in 5:45.00, just over six seconds faster than last week at the Suffolk Relays.

WHAT'S NEXT  
The Beacons will go on winter break before heading to New York on Friday, January 13th, 2023 for the MLK Collegiate Relays and then compete at the Reggie Payou Memorial Invitational at Reggie Lewis in Boston on Saturday.
