HOW IT HAPPENED

The Beacons late rally started with a Josh Holmes (Weymouth, Mass.) unassisted goal at 2:33 in the third which made it 10-8 in favor of the host Raiders.  After the final break of regulation, the Beacons wasted not time cutting the deficit to one thanks to a Conor Lenfest (Waltham, Mass.) goal, off a Kroy Arnold (Syracuse, N.Y.) pass.

Less than two minutes later, the Beacons evened the score at 10-10 with Dalton Ring (Holliston, Mass.) netting an unassisted tally.

From there Kroy and Clay Arnold (Syracuse, N.Y.) would combine for three goals respectively, while Lenfest would register a goal and two assists over the final 11 minutes.  Kroy's goal at the 11-minute mark gave UMB their first and only lead of the contest.

Lenfest posted a game-high six points (3g, 3a), while Kroy registered three goals and two assists.

The Beacons outshot the Raiders 45-33, and were a dominant 24-for-27 on the face-off dot.

Jacob Sinclair-Steeves (North Reading, Mass.) collected 22 of the Beacons 24 face-off wins and had a game-high nine ground balls.  Tommy Wilber, Jr. (Walpole, Mass.) and Adam Cariveau (Hudson, Mass.) each posted four pick-ups in the win.

Between the pipes, the Beacons saw the return of Nick Passalugo (Barnstable, Mass.) and Alex Surette (Melrose, Mass.).  Despite making nine stops through the first 30 minutes, it was Surette, who registered the victory.  The sophomore made two stops in each quarter to improve to 1-0 on the season.
