Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass.—UMass Boston rallied to score 11 runs in the final four innings, to earn a 12-7 comeback win over Babson College on Thursday afternoon at Govoni Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After trailing 5-1 through five innings, the Beacons erupted for five runs in the sixth, two more in the seventh, and four in the ninth, to earn their fifth-consecutive victory.
Kyle Boudrias (Medford, Mass.), Charlie Huegi (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and Ryan McCormick (Cumerbland, R.I.) paced the Beacons' offense with two RBI each.
Boudrias went 3-for-5 with a run scored, and delivered the go-ahead two-run single in the Beacons' five-run sixth. Huegi added a run scored and two triples, including a two-run triple to stretch the Beacons' lead to 8-5 in the seventh. McCormick provided the final big hit of the day, as he hit a two-run homer in the ninth, and finished with a team-high three runs scored.
UMass Boston used seven different pitchers on the day, with Alex Carusotto (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Bobby Tramondozzi (Peabody, Mass.) being the lone pitchers to throw two or more innings.
Carusotto improved to 2-0 on the year, after going 2.1 innings, allowing one hit, two walks, and one unearned run. He induced a pair of double-play balls, including a bases-loaded, 5-2-3 double play, with no outs in the sixth and the Beacons leading 6-5.
Tramondozzi came on in the eight with a runner on first and no outs and got the final six outs for his fourth save of the year. He scattered two hits and struck out the side in the ninth inning.
Babson used six pitchers of their own, with Michael Nocchi taking the loss. The freshman allowed three hits and five runs, one earned, in 2.2 innings.
The Beavers jumped out to a 5-1 lead through the first five innings-thanks to shaky defense and some control issues from UMass Boston pitchers.
UMass Boston struck back with five runs of their own in the top of the sixth thanks to three hits, two walks and a Beavers' error.
With two runners in scoring position and one down, Anthony Searles (Shelton, Conn.) drove in Chris Fowler (Barnstable, Mass.) when the Beavers' shortstop bobbled the ball. Junior Eddie Riley (Quincy, Mass.) followed with a successful suicide squeeze to score Danny Brown (Hudson, N.H.) from third.
Dan Mantoni (Northbridge, Mass.) cut the deficit to 5-4 with a bases-loaded walk that scored Searles. Boudrias gave the Beacons the lead for good, as the junior drilled a single to left-center that easily plated Riley and McCormick to make it 6-5.
After the Beavers stranded the bases-loaded with no outs in the bottom of the sixth, Huegi extended the Beacons' lead to 8-5 in the seventh. Searles started the rally with a two-out triple and then he and pinch-runner Sal Frosceno (Derby, Conn.) scampered home on Huegi's two-run triple.
Babson cut the deficit to 8-7 to start the seventh, but reliever Chris Munro (Marshfield, Mass.) came on and retired three-straight batters, to leave the tying run at third base.
UMass Boston's offense provided a few-extra insurance runs in the ninth. After Huegi tripled to the wall in right with one down, McCormick did him one better, by clearing the wall in right for his first collegiate homer.
Nick Herzog (Riverhead, N.Y.) pushed the lead to 11-7 with an RBI groundout to score Mantoni, and Brown extended the lead with a sacrifice fly that plated Boudrias.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Fowler (15 games), Boudrias (11 games) and Mantoni (eight games) all extended their hitting streaks in the victory. Mantoni has now reached base in all 22 games this season and has recorded a hit in 19 contests.
- The two teams combined for eight errors, 14 walks, six hit by pitches and three wild pitches. Only nine of the 19 runs scored were earned on Thursday.
- Huegi tied the program record for triples in a single-game with two. It was the 13th time a Beacon had tripled twice in a game, with Frosceno doing it most recently (March 20, 2015).
- UMass Boston has outscored their opponents 32-13 during their five-game winning streak.
