HOW IT HAPPENED

Despite putting up a stiff fight at every position, Comerchero's victory was the Beacons' lone point, as UMass Boston saw it's season-high three-match winning streak come to and end.

Comerchero defeated Endicott's Jack DeRizzo 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 in the final match of the day to finish.

The Gulls tacked on an 8-2 victory at second doubles, before Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Toler downed Austin DeLasse (Mexico City, Mexico) and Comerchero 8-5 at first doubles.

Endicott quickly clinched the victory to begin singles play, as they dropped a combined five games between victories at second and sixth singles.

At first singles, Book held off DeLasse 6-3, 6-2 to push the lead to 6-0.

Keaton McCleary extended the lead to 7-0, when he defeated Tin Tran (Quincy, Mass.) 6-0, 6-4 at fourth singles.

In the second-to-last match to end, junior Sanshrut Sharma (Mumbai, India) and Sam Salvas went the distance at fifth singles. Sharma took the first set 6-4, before falling 6-2 in the second set. Salvas earned the point by winning the third-set super tiebreaker 10-6.
