HOW IT HAPPENED

Four different Beacons scored and UMass Boston amassed a 32-6 shot advantage en route to a 4-0 route of the Bears.

Kenawy led the way offensively with a goal and a season-high two assists. He also paced the Beacons with his 12 shots and five shots on goal.

Senior Edmilson Barros (Praia, Cape Verde), junior Joshua Khang (Brockton, Mass.) and freshman Ocane Williamson (Spanish Town, Jamaica) also scored in the victory for the Beacons.

Sophomore Denis Martinez (Chelsea, Mass.) was credited with the other assist for the Beacons, who earned their second win in as many seasons at Svenson Field.

Freshman goalies Omar Castro-Dreher (Woonsocket, R.I.) and Aidan Carter (Weymouth, Mass.) combined for UMass Boston's program-record sixth-consecutive shutout. Castro-Dreher stopped three shots in 58:01, before giving way to Carter for the final 31:59.

Bridgewater State's Nate Morgado stopped seven of 11 shots to fall to 1-3 on the campaign.

UMass Boston opened the scoring at 11:36 on their second corner kick of the day. Barros sent a bending corner kick just inside the post for his third goal of the season and second game-winning tally.

Khang doubled UMass Boston's lead at 22:37. The junior received a pass from Kenawy and drilled a blast from 30-yards out just off the left post and in for a 2-0 advantage.

The Beacons put the game away less than five minutes into the second stanza. Kenawy sent a pass to Williamson inside the box and the freshman fought off a defender before drilling a shot home from six-yards out.

UMass Boston closed out the scoring at 69:44, when Kenawy posted his seventh goal in six games. Martinez sent Kenawy in on a mini-breakawy and Kenawy beat the keeper for a 4-0 lead.

The Beacons had two more chances to add to the lead, but Kenawy was denied on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute and then Morgado made a brilliant save two minutes later to stop Kenawy once again.
