Box Score NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – The 12th ranked Beacons converted on three of its first four power plays to build a secure lead that ultimately led to a 7-1 victory over UMass Dartmouth Saturday evening at Hetland Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons' scores came early and often, with senior Matt Lemire (Townsend, Mass.) opening with his first goal of the night at the four minute, 23 second mark on the game's second power play. The two teams traded chances until UMass Boston struck again in the 16th minute, as freshman Garrison Sanipass (Northbrook, Ill.) buried the second goal of the contest.
UMass Dartmouth then struck less than a minute later, when sophomore Casey Shea took the quick pass from juniors Matt Baldino and Mike Kelly and put a shot between the legs of Beacon goalkeeper Billy Faust (Alta Loma, Calif.), giving the Corsairs the only offense they would see.
The rest of the game was dominated by the Beacon offense, which registered 43 of its 62 shots on the last two periods. UMass Dartmouth took 23 shots on the night, and was unable to convert on four power play opportunities.
The visitors added two scores in the second period and three more in the third. Senior Frankie DeAugustine (Pittsburg, Pa.) and sophomore Colin Larkin (Waterford, Mich.) added the second stanza goals as both were netted on power plays.
Lemire tallied his second goal early in the third period, beating Corsair netminder Drew Michals. Following the sixth score of the night from senior Derek Colucci (North Scituate, R.I.), sophomore goalkeeper Tommy Bay entered the game, allowing the final goal from the Beacons' Zach Lindsay (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) while making 18 stops in his 16 minutes on the ice.
Michals took the loss in the midst of saving 37 shots, including 17 in the first period. On the other side, Faust completed the evening with 22 saves of his own.
Lemire led a host of Beacons with five shots on the game, while UMass Dartmouth was paced by Mike Restuccia's four tries.
