Miner's Record-Setting Day Powers Beacons to Home Sweep, LEC Momentum

BOSTON, Mass. (May 2, 2026) – UMass Boston Softball (25-11, 8-8 LEC) closed out the regular season in electrifying fashion at UMB Softball Field, sweeping Keene State with a pair of 9-1 run-rule victories. Lauren Miner (Millbury, Mass.) delivered a historic performance, setting program records for RBIs in both a single game and a season, as the Beacons capped their home slate with a six-game winning streak and secured .500 in Little East Conference play.

How It Happened:

• In Game 1, the Beacons broke a scoreless tie with a four-run third inning, sparked by RBI singles from Sofie Richland (Burlington, Vt.), Hayley Krockta (Taunton, Mass.), and Mya Perron (Beverly, Mass.), plus an RBI fielder's choice from Miner. Keene State managed an unearned run in the fifth, but UMass Boston responded with a five-run outburst, highlighted by Izzy Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.)'s bases-clearing double and the game-ending two-RBI single from Ella Delisle (Amesbury, Mass.). Lexus McIntosh (Lancaster, N.H.) went the distance, allowing no earned runs and striking out three in a statement win.

• Game 2 belonged to Miner and the Beacons' relentless lineup. Miner launched a three-run home run in the first and followed with a grand slam in the second, setting a new UMass Boston single-game record with seven RBIs and becoming the first Beacon in program history to reach 50 RBIs in a season. Liv Wentworth (Fitchburg, Mass.) added a perfect 3-for-3 performance and scored twice. Lauryn Meade (Hanson, Mass.) fired a six-inning complete game with six strikeouts, while Krockta capped the scoring with an RBI single before the run rule went into effect for the second straight contest.

By the Numbers:

Lauren Miner set the UMass Boston single-game RBI record (seven) and finished the regular season with a new program-best 50 RBIs.
• The Beacons outscored Keene State 18-2 in the doubleheader, winning both games via mercy rule to finish a perfect 5-0 in run-rule contests this year.
• UMass Boston pitching allowed just two runs (one earned) across 11 innings, striking out nine and walking only one batter.
• The Beacons finished their home schedule at 9-3, posting an 8-8 conference record and entering the postseason on a six-game winning streak.
• Wentworth went 3-for-3 with two runs in Game Two, while Levasseur tallied a three-RBI double and Delisle delivered multi-hit games in the opener.
