Danbury, CT (Apr. 23, 2025) — The UMass Boston Beacons dropped their final road game of the season on Wednesday night, falling to the Western Connecticut State Wolves by a score of 17-2.
The game started with a quick exchange of goals, as Ava Duffy (Quincy, Mass.) netted her 23rd of the season less than a minute in to tie the game at 1-1. Teresa Sheedy (Quincy, Mass.) followed with her 24th goal of the season early in the second quarter, pulling the Beacons to within four. However, the Wolves responded with an eleven-goal run, shutting down any momentum the Beacons tried to build.
Emily Hansen (Lake Villa, Ill.) led the Beacons defensively with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. UMass Boston managed 11 shots on goal, with Hannah Rich (Rockland, Mass.) leading the way with three. Emerson Homa (Gorham, ME) came on in relief in net and recorded six saves.

The Beacons return home for their season finale on Saturday, April 26, when they host the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College. Game time is set for 12 p.m. at the Mount Ida Campus of UMass Amherst in Newton, Massachusetts.
