Danbury, Conn. (Apr. 10, 2025) – The Western Connecticut Wolves kept the UMass Boston offense in check on Thursday night, handing the Beacons a 21-5 road loss.
How It Happened
The Wolves opened the game with an 11-goal run, keeping the Beacons scoreless until the second quarter. Matt Hutchings (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) finally broke through with his 25th goal of the season, assisted by Caesar Hendricks (Mashpee, Mass.).
Shane McGonagle (Haverhill, Mass.) and Jack Schartner (Bolton, Mass.) each added unassisted goals in the third quarter. In the fourth, Seth Libby (Pomfret, Conn.) tallied his 16th goal of the season and later assisted on a goal by Timothy Sullivan (Walpole, Mass.) to round out the Beacons' scoring.
Freshman goalie Matt Corvi (Franklin, Mass.) recorded a new career-high with eight saves in just over 26 minutes of play.
