Beacons Fall to No. 20 Babson Beavers

Babson Park, Mass. (April 1, 2025) — The UMass Boston Beacons were defeated by the No. 20 Babson Beavers, 19-6, in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night. 

How It Happened 

Babson came out strong, holding the Beacons' high-powered offense in check throughout the first half. Timothy Sullivan (Walpole, Mass.) scored the Beacons' only goal of the second quarter, marking his 12th of the season. 

Sullivan found the net again just two minutes into the third quarter, while Duncan Youngclaus (Middleboro, Mass.) added his fourth goal of the year to close out the frame. 

The Beacons exchanged goals with the Beavers in the fourth quarter. Cole Allan (Falmouth, ME.) was the first to score, followed by a goal from Babson's Andrew Berardi. Sullivan completed his hat trick with a goal off an assist from Allan, who leads the team with ten assists on the season. Patrick Dwinnells (Ashland, Mass.) capped the Beacons' scoring with the final goal of the game, assisted by Ryan Steckman-Buck (North Massapequa, N.Y.). 

Inside the Box Score 

  • Timothy Sullivan scored three goals on six shots, with all three shots on goal finding the back of the net. 

  • James Boldy (Hopedale, Mass.) made 11 saves in the loss. 

  • Holden Kuzniar (Georgetown, Mass.) set a new career high with five ground balls, leading the Beacons in that category.

The Beacons return to Little East Conference (LEC) action on Saturday, April 5th, when they host Massachusetts Maritime Academy at 1:00 p.m. at James Cotter Field in Boston, Massachusetts.
