Boston, MA (Mar. 2, 2025) --- The UMass Boston men's lacrosse team took an early lead, propelled by a first-quarter hat trick from Caesar Hendricks, and never looked back, securing a 7-5 victory over the Hawks at James Cotter Field.
How it Happened
Caesar Hendricks was locked in to start the game scoring the first three goals of the contest in the first. Just over two minutes in, Hendricks scored the first of the game unassisted. He then scored his second and third goals within a minute of each other to give the Beacons a 3-1 lead heading into the second frame.
Matt Hutchings registered his first goal of the game, second of the season, to start the second before the Hawks went on their own three-goal run. Seth Libby, assisted by Patrick Dwinnells, stopped the Hawks momentum to put the Beacons up 5-4 going into the half.
The third quarter was scoreless for both teams. James Boldy made two of his eleven saves in the frame while CJ Ledwick from Hartford made three of his fourteen in the third.
It was deja vu for Libby and Dwinnells to start the fourth as they combined for the second time to score what would be the game winning goal. Dwinnells then followed up his two assists with his second goal of the season.
