NGWSD Clinic

National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), established in 1987, celebrates the achievements of women and girls in sports while encouraging further participation. To honor NGWSD, the Beacons will host a Youth Clinic from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., where children will have the opportunity to explore a variety of sports, including volleyball, soccer, basketball, and softball. The stations will be led by Beacons' coaches and athletes.

After the clinic, participants will take part in a mental skills workshop led by Elise Pelletier from Strong Girls United, alongside other student-athletes. The event will conclude with certificate presentations, and participants are invited to attend the Beacons' women's basketball game against Plymouth State at 12 p.m.

NGWSD Celebration

In celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, UMass Boston athletics will feature an all-female broadcast and production team, table crew, and officiating crew for the game. Amanda Keane will serve as the voice of the broadcast, joined live by various coaches, athletes, and staff members, with a special guest appearance from Elise Pelletier of Strong Girls United.

Additionally, the UMass Boston women's tennis team will be recognized at halftime for winning their third consecutive LEC title, which they secured this past fall after defeating Rhode Island College.
