BOSTON, Mass. (Dec. 30, 2025) — The UMass Boston Beacons women's basketball team (5-4, 0-2 LEC) fell to the University of Northwestern (4-7) 72–64 in non-conference play at the Clark Athletic Center.
Jordis Tautalatasi (Springfield, Mass.) set the tone early for the Beacons, scoring within seconds of the tip-off. Tautalatasi scored eight of UMass Boston's 18 points as they held an 18–10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Eagles gained momentum at the beginning of the second quarter, going on a 10–4 scoring run to cut the deficit to two (22–20).
Tatiannah Fevry (Dracut, Mass.) halted UNW's run with a score in the paint off a turnover. UMass Boston built a comfortable five-point lead (33–28) with 2:04 remaining. A buzzer-beating shot pulled the Eagles ahead, 34–33, at halftime.
UNW scored on four of their first five third-quarter possessions to retain the lead. The Beacons, led by
Hialeah Turner-Foster (Mashpee, Mass.),
Ashleigh Lagor (Millbury, Mass.) and Tautalatasi, tallied 10 out of their 14 third-quarter points to cut the deficit to four (51-47).
The Beacons fought back in the fourth quarter, pressuring the Eagles' offense and forcing four turnovers. Lagor rallied UMass Boston in the final minutes, but the Eagles pulled away with the win.
Lagor led all scorers with 20 points. Tautalatasi chipped in with 12. The Eagles held the advantage in field goal percentage, 50.9–42.4. UNW outrebounded the Beacons, 36–27.
