BOSTON, Mass. (December 16, 2025) – The UMass Boston women's basketball team (5-3, 0-2 LEC) took care of business on the road Tuesday night, rolling past Wentworth Institute of Technology (1-9, 0-3 CNE) by a score of 79-48. Four Beacons finished in double figures, led by 20 points from junior forward Sabanna Berrios (Providence, R.I.).
UMass Boston set the tone early, opening the game on a 12-2 run and closing the first quarter with a commanding 27-12 advantage. The Beacons continued to control the pace in the second quarter, pushing the lead to 42-24 at halftime behind 18 first-half points from Berrios.
The Leopards were unable to mount a comeback after the break, as the Beacons never allowed the margin to dip below 17 points. Tatiannah Fevry (Dracut, Mass.) and Jordis Tautalatasi (Springfield, Mass.) paced the offense in the second half, helping UMass Boston comfortably close out the victory.
Berrios finished with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting to go along with five rebounds. Tautalatasi added 12 points, Fevry chipped in 11, and sophomore forward Ashleigh Lagor (Millbury, Mass.) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10. The quartet combined for 53 of the Beacons' 79 points.
Senior Sibayla Jensen (Portland, Ore.) anchored the all-around effort, posting seven assists and a career-high seven steals, while senior Kayla Jackson (Saugus, Mass.) led the team on the glass with seven rebounds.
UMass Boston will return to action following the holiday break, hosting the University of Northwestern (Minn.) in non-conference play on Tuesday, December 30, at 12:00 p.m. inside the Clark Athletic Center.
