BOSTON, MA (January 10, 2025) – The Beacons' women's basketball team looks to bounce back following Wednesday's nail-biter on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in another Little East Conference meeting against the Keene State Owls from the Beacons' home court at the Clark Gymnasium.

- In 58 total matchups with Keene State, UMass Boston has taken 17 total wins, with the most recent victory coming in January of 2023 when the Beacons put the Owls on their heels 66-61. Since then, the Beacons are 0-3 against the Owls, with the most recent meeting in February of 2023 resulting in a 48-59 loss from the Clark Gymnasium. In the last ten matchups, the Beacons are an even 5-5 against the Owls and cumulatively average 55.4 points per game.

- The Beacons (4-9, 1-3 LEC) are 2-3 in their last five games, with their most recent victory coming in a historic 95-54 blowout over the Fitchburg State Falcons, the most points scored in a game for head Coach Heather Jacobs in her four-year tenure with UMass Boston. The most recent matchup saw UMass Boston complete a fourth-quarter comeback but were stunned in the final two possessions to fall against the University of Southern Maine (67-71). Offensively, the duo of sophomore paint-beast Sabanna Berrios (Providence, R.I.) and sophomore rookie Hialeah Turner-Foster (Mashpee, Mass.) lead the way with 10.5 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Junior defensive menace Tatiannah Fevry (Dracut, Mass.) averages 8.5 PPG and is currently tied for most steals and steals per game in the conference with 34 total in 13 games (2.6 SPG). First-year post-up specialist Ashleigh Lagor (Millbury, Mass.) has left her fingerprints on the Beacons' success this year, contributing solid numbers across the board, including 8.2 PPG, 1.5 combined steals and blocks per game, and 3.5 rebounds per contest. Berrios and sophomore lockdown forward Samora Merchant (Brookfield, Conn.) lead the effort on the glass with 6.9 and 5.9 rebounds per game, respectively. Junior captain Sibayla Jensen (Portland, Ore.) is the team's primary playmaker with 2.7 assists per game.
- The Owls (6-6, 2-1 LEC) are 4-1 in their last five, with the most recent matchup resulting in an 83-73 victory over the Vermont State University Castleton Spartans. Their most significant win of the season was a daunting 98-24 victory over Vermont State Johnson on December 3. The Owls are averaging 65.5 points per game (36.9% FG, 29.4% 3PT, 67.9% FT.), 35.5 rebounds, 9.8 assists, 9.8 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game. Offensively, the Owls are led by Brynn Rautiola with 239 points in 12 games (19.9 PPG), followed by Valarie Luizzi and Ruby Dasaro with 14.0 and 10.6 PPG, respectively. Avery Stewart leads the effort on the glass with 4.8 rebounds per contest. Luizzi is the primary point with a team-high 2.4 assists per game.
