PLYMOUTH, N.H. - UMass Boston Women's Lacrosse scored a pair of goals in the first quarter of Tuesday's game before eventually being outpaced by Plymouth State University 18-2.
THE BASICS
UMass Boston 2, Plymouth State University 18
UMass Boston (0-10)
Plymouth State University (5-6)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers opened the game on a 5-0 run that was quickly put to bed by
Brianna Damske's third goal of the season.
Jamie McAleavey's sixth assist helped Damske put the Beacons on the board.
Plymouth State answered the Damske goal with a pair of scores of their own, but McAleavey was prepared with a goal of her own. Earning a free position shot from a Panther foul, McAleavey capitalized, scoring her 12th goal of the season to close out the first quarter.
Though the Beacons were able to keep the Panthers from replicating their seven-goal first quarter later in the game, they were met with an equally tough Plymouth State defense. They went without a goal in the final three quarters, eventually falling 18-2.
BY THE NUMBERS
- McAleavey extended her team lead with her sixth assist of the season
- Laura Falandys made six saves in goal and scooped four ground balls
- The Beacons will have three more opportunities to earn their first victory
