HOW IT HAPPENED
The Corsairs punched in three early scores in the first quarter before falling silent for the rest of the period. They did the same in the second quarter, but were met with a response from the Beacons. Using an assist from Liz Kramp, Emily Pearl put a ball into the back of the net for her 14th goal of the season.

A free position shot allowed Mia Boyd to extend her team lead with her 19th goal of the season. Right on her heels though was Pearl, who went unassisted to score her second of the night and her 15th of the season. At halftime the Beacons trailed 7-3.

UMass Dartmouth scored the opening goal of the second half, but Jamie McAleavey was quick with the response to pull back within four, 8-4. A pair of Corsair goals were matched by a Teresa Sheedy goal and Pearl's third of the night, keeping the game at 10-6.

Back-to-back scores from Angelina Mazzone and Sheedy pulled the Beacons within three, 11-8, their smallest deficit since the second quarter. Boyd and Mazzone added late scores to keep the game tight, but the Corsairs pulled away to take the game by a final of 15-10.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Boyd is the first player in program history to score 20 goals in a season
  • Pearl's hat trick is her third of the season
  • The Beacons secured 15 of their 28 draw controls
  • In addition to her two goals, Sheedy added an assist, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers
