HOW IT HAPPENED
For the third game in a row the Beacons offense touched the back of the net first to open scoring. Against the Lyons, that game-opening goal came from the stick of Jamie McAleavey, scoring her fifth goal of the campaign.

After three Mount Holyoke goals swung the lead in their favor 3-1 to end the quarter, the Beacons came right back on the offensive in the second. Mia Boyd scored her sixth goal of the year and dished out an assist to Briann Damske to knot the game at 3-3 in just over four minutes of play. McAleavey was once again the party to pull the Beacons out in front, scoring her second goal of the night to reclaim the one-point lead.

A pair of MHC goals flipped the advantage back to the Lyons, but Emily Pearl was quick to even things out once again with her sixth goal of the year. The Beacons traded goals with the host once more before the end of the half when Boyd ripped her second score of the night to tie the game at intermission.

In the third, the Beacons once again called Pearl's number to swing the scoreboard back in their favor, 7-6 to open the half.

Five unanswered goals for the Lyons put Mount Holyoke out in front 11-7. That lead, however, was cut down to just two goals courtesy of McAleavey's hat-trick-finisher and Teresa Sheedy's first score of the night. Those goals would be the last scored by the Beacons as they went on to lose by a final score of 16-9.

  • Four different Beacons have at least five goals on the year including a three-way tie (Pearl, Boyd, McAleavey) for the team lead with seven
