Doble's Career Day in the Circle Powers 1-0 Win Over Gwynedd Mercy

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons faced their first jam in the top of the first inning when the Griffins threatened with runners on first and third. Doble got the job done, however, catching the batter looking to escape the frame unscathed.

After stranding a runner in each of the first two innings, the Beacons returned to the top of the order with two outs and none on in the third. Leadoff hitter Sofie Richland started the two-out rally with a single and a steal of second base. Looking to crack the scoreless tie, Haley Tillberry ripped a base hit up the middle, bringing Richland home for the game's first run.

Doble, who had retired the side in order in the second, went on to do the same in the third and fourth, keeping the Griffins from even sniffing a scoring opportunity. She allowed a leadoff runner to reach base in each the fifth and the sixth, but went on to strand both runners to protect the lead and the shutout.

A leadoff double in the seventh opened the door for the Beacons to extend their lead late. That run, however, never crossed the plate, leaving the delicate one-run lead in the hands of Doble.

The Beacons' started struck out the leadoff batter and generated a groundout from the second. A walk issued put the tying run on base, but Doble was able to slam the door shut with another strikeout looking.
