PROVIDENCE, R.I (December 2, 2024) – The Little East Conference announced the winners for the Little East Conference Player of the Week awards for November 25, through December 1. Amongst this week's winners, UMass Boston's first-year forward Cameron Perkins (Danbury, Conn.) and Hialeah Turner-Foster (Mashpee, Mass.) were selected as this week's LEC Rookies of the Week for men's and women's basketball.
Cameron Perkins:

• Perkins is selected as this week's Rookie of the Week following a 2-0 week for the Beacons' men's hoops team. Last week, he averaged 26.5 points per contest, shooting 59% (19-32 FG), 100% from the free throw line (8-8), and 78% from downtown (7-9). He opened the week with a 101-72 non-conference victory against Curry with 26 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Following Curry, in the conference opener against the Wolves, Perkins tallied 27 points, six rebounds, and the game-winning three-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining.

Hialeah Tuner Foster:

• The sophomore dual-sport athlete in her first collegiate basketball season led the Beacons in scoring through a 1-1 week for the women's basketball team. In 30 minutes against Lasell, Turner-Foster poured in 13 points off the bench to lead the Beacons in scoring. She followed this performance with a career-high 15 points on 6-12 shooting in the Beacons' conference opener against the Wolves to again lead UMass Boston on the offensive charge from the bench. Cumulatively, she averaged 14 points in 27.5 minutes of action in two games.

Perkins and Turner-Foster return to the spotlight at the Clark Athletic Center in LEC action on Wednesday, December 4, against the Anchormen and women of Rhode Island College. The women will tip off at 5:00 p.m., followed by the men, who will tip off at 7:00 p.m.
