BOSTON, Mass. – The postseason honors continue to roll in for senior standout
Malik Lorquet. After a career-best season, where he climbed high into the record books in multiple categories, the Sharon native has added D3Hoops.com All-Region selection to his growing resume.
The Beacons big-man earned a spot on the Second Team in Region 2.
Lorquet averaged a double-double of 18.9 points and 13.4 rebounds per game in 26 games played in his senior campaign. He was ranked fourth in the Little East Conference in scoring while finishing second in the conference in rebounds. The 6-foot, 5-inch forward finished the season with 22 double-doubles which led all of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball heading into the conference tournament. With a field goal percentage of 48.8% on the year, Lorquet led the Beacons offense, and was a top-10 shooter in the LEC.
The First Team All-LEC selection broke the single-season rebounding record as well as the all-time rebounding record this season for the Beacons along with the season rebounding average while becoming the 16th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark in his career.
He is the first player since Carl Joseph to earn All-Region honors. Joseph was selected in 2014 as a Third Team honoree.
