Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
The Beacons took to James Cotter field on Wednesday afternoon looking to bounce back from a loss to Connecticut College which saw their lowest scoring output in nearly two years.Â
Â
They wasted no time initiating the scoring as
Gavin Admirand capitalized on a
Charlie Chapman assist, netting the game's first goal on its opening possession. Chapman and
Luke Murphy would each add a goal before two full minutes had ticked off the clock.
Â
One Norwich goal slowed the UMB momentum temporarily, but two
Greg Wolff goals and an assist in the final eight minutes sent the Beacons into the second ahead 6-1.
Â
Across the second and third quarters, the Beacons scored 17 goals while allowing just one from the cadets. The 30 minute stretch saw Chapman complete a hat trick while leading scorers Admirand and
Connor Smith each reached four goals in the game.
Â
The Beacons' youth got in on the scoring as well. Freshmen
Nolan Beauregard,
Carson Meczywor, and
Caesar Hendricks each netted a goal during the 17-1 run.
Â
Hendricks, who showed off his speed on offense throughout the game, added a game-high four assists to give him five total points on the day.
Â
After struggling in net early in the season, 2022 All-LEC goalie
Trevor Koppy found his stride on Friday, saving 10 shots while allowing just two goals in over 42 minutes in net.
