Western Connecticut State (1-7, 0-2 LEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
A low-scoring first quarter for both teams got hot late as Kayla Jackson put down back to back layups to give the Beacons an 8-6 lead with two minutes left to play. A pair of Keriann Farina free throws canceled out a Gabrielle Franks layup, but Nicole Vivian's triple with under a minute to play put the Wolves on top 11-10 heading into the second quarter.

An early mid-range jumper from Farina followed by a three-pointer from Bradbury put UMass Boston out in front 15-11. Alexah Potter capped off the 7-0 run with a layup in the paint, extending the lead to 17-11. Jackson and Tatiannah Fevry each lit up the scoreboard for four points in the second while Bradbury splashed another three to put the hosts up five at halftime.

A pair of early buckets from Potter stretched the Beacons' lead out to nine, but the Wolves chipped away, whittling the advantage down to two points with just over five minutes to play. A 7-0 solo run for Bradbury stretched the UMass Boston lead to double digits for the first time heading into the fourth.

WestConn was relentless late, cutting the deficit down to six from 13 in the fourth. However, the familiar faces of Bradbury and Potter went on a 7-0 run to snuff out any hope for a comeback, securing the 61-48 victory.
