WILLIMANTIC, C.T. - UMass Boston Women's Basketball hung tight in their conference opener at Eastern Connecticut State before eventually falling to the Warriors by a final score of 62-49 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Eastern Connecticut was quick to open up an 8-2 advantage in the opening minutes, but a 10-3 UMass Boston run led by four points apiece from Skyler Sandison and
Kayla Jackson put the Beacons out in front.
Sibayla Jensen knocked down the game's first three-pointer to keep the score tight headed into the second quarter.
A sustained run for the home team put the Beacons down 10 with under 90 seconds to play in the first half. A midrange jumper from Jensen and a three at the buzzer from standout freshman
Sophie Bradbury put them right back in the action, cutting the lead to 30-25 at the break.
The Beacons prevented any sustained runs in the second half, but could not quite chip away at the lead. Eastern Connecticut stretched their advantage out to double-digits, taking the game by a 62-49 final.
