GORHAM, M.E. - UMass Boston Women's Hockey once again ran into a defense front as strong as their own on Friday, firing shots on Southern Maine all night before eventually battling to a scoreless draw.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Friday night's matchup was about as evenly contested as they come. Both teams rained down shots on the opposing goalie but could not find the back of the net. The Huskies wagered 34 shots that all ended up in the glove of
Leah Bosch.
Player-up opportunities were not kind to either side as both the Beacons and Huskies were able to kill off power plays efficiently.
Gabby Shontz contributed three blocks to the impenetrable defensive effort for UMass Boston.
In the overtime period, the Beacons took five shots in just over a minute of play, but still could not find the deciding score.
