GORHAM, Maine – Freshman midfielder Julia McKenna scored two goals for University of Southern Maine as the Huskies downed UMass Boston Women's Soccer at Hannaford Field on Wednesday night, 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beacons would look to get on the scoreboard first, recording their first shot on goal in the 12
th minute when sophomore midfielder
Reilly Bayliss fired a header at junior goalkeeper Breanna Atwood who corralled the shot. That would be the only shot on goal UMass Boston would be able to record in the first half.
Two minutes later, McKenna netted her first goal of the game on a pass from junior defender Sarah Lowell to put the Huskies ahead 1-0. In the closing minutes of the first half, Southern Maine would add to their lead on a penalty kick goal in the 44
th minute by junior defender Mia Sargent to go into halftime up by two goals.
McKenna would pick up right where she left off in the first half, adding her second goal of the match in the 58
th minute on a cross pass from junior forward Catriona Gould, to put Southern Maine ahead, 3-0. The Huskies would tack on one more in the 71
st minute when freshman defender Devon Gatz assisted on graduate forward Gaby Panagakos's goal.
BY THE NUMBERS
