Lacrosse Sinks Buccaneers For Third Conference Win

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – A 12 goal first half lifted lacrosse to their third straight Little East Conference win as they defeated Massachusetts Maritime Academy by the final of 20-9 Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Gavin Admirand led the Beacons attack with nine points in the win over the Buccaneers. Of the 12 goals scored in the first 30 minutes, four belonged to the senior All-American. He capped-off the night with a combined seven goals, which was a season-high.

Defensively, the Beacons held MMA to just four goals all in the first quarter, as junior netminder Trevor Koppy held the Buccaneers scoreless in the second frame. Koppy made 11 stops to improve to 8-1 on the season.

Jacob Banks and Darragh Fahey helped to lead the Beacons with three goals each.

Chris Palin and Patrick Carey each caused two turnovers, while face-off man Jason McNeany collected eight ground balls. Jack Dobrzynski picked up 10 face-off wins, with McNeany finishing right behind with nine wins on the "X".
