Darragh Fahey scored the game-winning goal with just over two minutes left in the first overtime to lift lacrosse to a 11-10 win over Nichols College Wednesday afternoon in the 2022 season opener for the Beacons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Fahey scored the crucial goal off a pass from
Luke Murphy with 2:46 left in the period. Fahey who had three goals and an assist in the non-conference win, also scored the last Beacons goal of regulation midway through the fourth.
Following that goal, Nichols would score back-to-back tallies over a two-minute span to even the score at 10-10.
After a wild first quarter, which had the Beacons taking a slim 4-3 lead Nichols responded with three goals in the second to take a 6-5 lead into the break. Claflin recorded all three goals for the Beacons in the first.
Fahey,
Gavin Admirand and
Donovan Prozinski all found the back of the net over the final two quarters to give the Beacons a 10-8 advantage.
Jack Dobrzynski picked-up six face-off wins, while
Patrick Carey led the team with six groundballs.
Trevor Koppy picked-up the win after making five stops.
Christian Meinhold went the first two quarters and combined for eight saves.
