WORCESTER, Mass. - UMass Boston Women's Basketball dropped a game dominated by defense on Saturday afternoon as the Worcester Polytechnic Institute defense held Beacons to a program record 23 points, handing them a 50-23 loss on the road.

The Beacons kept the game close early, at one point trailing just 24-14 with 4:38 remaining in the third quarter after a three from graduate forward
Meg Dixon, but could not overcome the defensive presence of the Engineers
Dixon contributed a game-high eight points to go with a game-best eight rebounds in the 27-point defeat.
