BRUNSWICK, Maine – Four first period goals for Bowdoin College would propel the Polar Bears past UMass Boston Men's Ice Hockey who dropped their fourth straight game and were held scoreless for the third consecutive game in their 6-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bowdoin would jump out to a three-goal lead over the course of three minutes during the opening period, scoring on three of their first four shot attempts taken against graduate goalie
Liam Murray. Senior goalie
Sam Best would replace Murray in net with just over nine minutes to go in the first, allowing one more goal to the Polar Bears who went into the intermission with a 4-0 advantage.
UMass Boston would record eight shots on goal in the second period while also having three power play opportunities but would be unable to get anything by junior goalie Alex Kozic. Bowdoin would add their fifth goal of the afternoon, giving them a 5-0 lead heading into the final 20 minutes of the game.
In the third period, the Polar Bears added their sixth and final goal of the game while the Beacons were unable to put the puck past Kozic on their four shot attempts, falling for the fourth consecutive game, 6-0, on the road to Bowdoin.

WHO'S NEXT
UMass Boston returns home for their final game before winter break against a nonconference opponent in Anna Maria College next Friday night at 7:00 PM. The Beacons have only faced the AmCats once in program history with that matchup coming last season at home in which they came away with a 3-1 victory.
