UTICA, N.Y.—Three different players finished with a goal and an assist, to help UMass Boston men's hockey snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

Alex Duncan (Andover, Mass.),
Nolan Barrett (Wayne, N.J.) and
Chris Peters (Fairport, N.Y.) each finished with a goal and an assist in the victory.

Owen Bourdow (Saginaw, Mich.) tacked on a goal as well for UMass Boston.

Sophomore goalie
Connor McAnanama (Agawam, Mass.) earned his first collegiate victory by making 27 saves on 28 shots. He stopped eight shots in the first period, 10 more in the second and made nine saves in the final stanza.

Amherst's Mitchell Shults broke up the Beacons shutout bid with a goal early in the third period.

Junior goalie Dan Dachille made 20 saves on 24 shots in the loss.

The Beacons opened the scoring 7:28 into the contest. Duncan ripped a shot over Dachille's shoulder for a 1-0 advantage, with
Corey Clifton (Matawan, N.J.) and Barrett earning assists on the play.

Bourdow scored the eventual game-winning goal at 18:09 of the first. With the Beacons on the power-play, he roofed a shot in tight to make it 2-0.
Andy Walker (Detroit, Mich.) and
Michael Krupinski (Dallas, Texas) each were credited with assists on the play.

UMass Boston made it 3-0 just 48 seconds into the second period.
Jeffrey Skinner (Katy, Texas) and Peters cycled the puck around and found Barrett up top for a power-play goal. The goal marked the first collegiate goal for the Beacons freshman defenseman.

The Beacons closed out the scoring at 13:11 of the period, when Duncan set up Peters for his fifth-goal of the year.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Amherst outshot the Beacons 28-24 and earned a slim 30-28 edge in face-offs.
- The Beacons went 2-4 on the power-play and held Amherst to an 0-6 performance.
- Duncan scored in both games this weekend and has now scored five goals in the Beacons' past five games.
- After being outscored 9-0 in the second period of their past three games, UMass Boston earned a 2-0 edge in the second period on Saturday.
- With the win, UMass Boston improved to 6-18-2 all-time against Amherst. Today's contest was the first meeting since February 19, 2011, when the Beacons defeated Amherst 7-2.Â
